Alexander Georgiev

Cargofort

A lawyer by education and a teacher by profession, Alexander Georgiev is Project Manager at Cargofort - a Bulgarian insurtech company that provides time and peace of mind to dynamically busy professionals in the logistics world.

A graduate of the United World College Maastricht, Alexander specialized in European Law and Economics at the University of Amsterdam, where he completed his Master's in Commercial and Investment Law, all the while teaching various disciplines at the university and beyond to pupils and students of over 60 nationalities. A firm supporter of the value and necessity of multi-disciplinary knowledge, Alexander entered the logistics sector in 2019 as an intern at Claims Trans, where he gained invaluable experience that will allow him to speak today about:

"Security in times of turbulence: How to be competitive during changes in the logistics market?"

Here, Alexander will point to answers to the important questions about how Bulgarian companies can feel comfortable with both day-to-day and more serious structural changes in the logistics world. As well as what are the key needs that no one in the industry should ignore if they take their transportation seriously.

Over the past 3 years, Alexander has been developing the service and role of "damage accountant" related to logistics teams successfully managing their transport claims without their commercial interest being compromised to their partners and clients, being an integral part of over 4000 resolved transport cases in Europe and Asia.

In 2022, it takes the first steps for the integration of the electronic waybill (e-CMR) in Bulgaria through the first webinar of its kind on electronic waybills in Bulgarian, as well as through active participation in the synchronization of legislative changes and the needs of the industry. In 2024, prepare the first pilot project with all Bulgarian companies to use electronic bills of lading.

Since 2023, it has been diligently developing and conducting trainings and seminars to support Bulgarian logistics companies to optimize their processes, practices and results related to the processing of transport and insurance claims.

The conclusions, lessons, as well as surprises from all these experiences, Alexander will tell in his presentation at the 12th Logistics Conference to support logistics companies in being more secure during the inevitable changes in the transport market.
